ACTION STEPS FOR STEP 6 – “PLANNING YOUR MONETIZATION”

1. Create Your market_research_file.docx that summarizes your market research. In it you want to know:

  1. Who is your target market?
  2. Why are they your target market?
  3. What do they want? (General idea)
  4. Where can you reach them? (i.e. Where do they “hang out”?)
  5. What are their problems? (Be specific)
  6. What can you offer them? What are the benefits for them?
  7. Why should they care about your offer? Why should they listen to you?
  8. Why should they purchase what you have to offer?
  9. What is your USP (Unique Selling Proposition)? How is what you are offering uniquely distinguishable from anything anyone else offers on the topic?
  10. What are you going to do to WOW your target market?

2. Start planning your Traffic Vortex. Start by figuring out what is that one thing that you will sell that makes you the greatest amount of money per customer (goal is at least $1,000 per customer per year or more)? This can be a high end coaching program; a $97/month membership site; a done for you service; an affiliate product; or anything else that meets the criteria.

 
3. Once you know what the center of your vortex will be, plan the pillars of your vortex. You do this by thinking about what are the components or topics that make up the center of your vortex? You need not fewer than 3 pillars nor more than 7.
 
4. Once you know what your pillars will be, it’s time to plan how you will monetize each pillar! Will you do a Workshop for each pillar? Sell an Affiliate Product for each Pillar? Have a membership site that contains content for each pillar? Whatever you do for each pillar, it has to meet what your prospects want AND it has to have a way to further their level of awareness so that they self select into the product/service in the center of your vortex.
 
5. Once you know how you will monetize each pillar, what will you do to generate leads in the mint green ring of your vortex?

Will you have a low end membership site?

A series of low end products?

Affiliate products with bonuses you create?

The mint green ring MUST be something people pay $1 or more for AND it must be delivered over time!

 
6. Next, you want to craft your “Vortex Story“. This is a prospect facing/customer facing story that tells people the benefits of doing business with your company. An example can be found on www.CaregivingWithPurpose.com/about. and www.HowToLiveOnPurpose.com/about. You’ll see several things:

a. There is a box for each pillar of her vortex

b. There is a drawing of 6 hearts arranged in a circle, each a different color, each in a different position. These graphics become a visual depiction of each pillar that can be reused all over the site — on the Home Page as a visual cue to how the content fits into the bigger picture, on an image of a product to again depict how that product fits into the entire system, etc. Notice that in each box, she is telling the story of Lisa, a fictional character who is her Ideal Customer, and her problem that relates to the topic of that pillar.

The story looks like the journey of the ideal customer to go from the problems that attracted them to you to the person who has overcome them all and achieved the outcomes you wanted for them in Lesson 4! Write your Vortex Story so that you can use it to create an About Page, a Welcome video, an image for each pillar of your vortex, and even your Social Media “About” sections. You will want to reuse your Vortex Story in just about everything you do!

7. The next things you plan are what you will do in the light lavender ring — your website. Ideally, this should be a WordPress blog. It should have one category for each pillar of your vortex. You should plan at least a 90 day editorial calendar — what content will you create to drive traffic to everything you sell? The content has to match what your prospects want and are actively searching for. The content must have a call to action that leads to either your mint green ring or a product for one of your pillars in the dark purple ring. 8. Download DIA from: https://www.askggg.com/dia.
